Sunshine State Steak Cook Off
The largest steak grilling competition East of the Mississippi is held annually in Ave Maria, organized by Donahue Academy. The event has grown over the years and serves between 1,500 and 2,000 steaks. Winners are selected by a panel of judges after a double-blind examination of the entries. The teams with the best steaks get trophies, cash and bragging rights.

After more than a decade of grilling thousands upon thousands of steaks, the Sunshine State Steak Cook Off has taken on a bit of a life of its own. All the details, rules, past winners and ticket sales can be found online on its own website.
